Wednesday September 14

10:00 AM  –  12:00 PM

Ornamental grasses, and the natural look they lend to gardens, have become wildly popular in the last decades. In this class you will learn which grasses perform best in Northwest gardens and how to plant and maintain. This class will start with some basic grass morphology and botanical history, which will help in understanding how to optimize grass use in the garden. Then we will take a walking tour of the grasses growing in the Bellevue Botanical Garden. Late summer and fall are when the grasses take center stage. This class is both an excellent introduction for beginning gardeners and a more in depth look for seasoned gardeners.
