Thursday October 5

6:30 PM  –  8:30 PM

In this class, we explore the basic roles mushrooms play in forest ecology and how those roles can benefit our gardens and our bodies. To further explore the information, we will learn basic techniques to propagate and cultivate the wood loving species, Pleurotus ostreatus, The Oyster mushroom. Each participant will not only have the opportunity to create an Oyster Spawn Mat in class, that can be used to inoculate more substrate later at home, but will also receive a ready-to-fruit mushroom kit to take home. The techniques we cover will apply to a wide array of species for your garden and kitchen. The class fee includes a $40 supply fee, which covers spawn and an oyster kit. Limited to 15 participants.
