Paper Mycena Mushrooms

This event is no longer on sale.

Saturday February 19

10:00 AM  –  12:00 PM

In compliance with Seattle-King County Public Health regulations, people that attend an in-person program in the Aaron Education Center at the Bellevue Botanical Garden will be required to show proof of COVID vaccination or a negative FDA-approved COVID test taken within 72 hours of the program start. Everyone is required to wear a mask indoors. We do not expect this to interfere in any way with this class.

Come make these quirky little fungi in paper! Pink Mycena mushrooms grow in clusters on decaying logs, helping with the important work of breaking down and recycling forest matter. As you make your own tiny mushroom colony, you’ll learn how to sculpt and color crepe paper, how to work with floral stem wire, and how to create naturalistic groupings of mushrooms. You’ll make a cluster of mushrooms and plant them in a small ceramic planter, along with moss and rocks.
