Wisdom of Leaves

This event is no longer on sale.

Saturday October 3

12:00 PM  –  2:00 PM

Taught by Jeanne Hansen. Step into a quiet, sensory-rich experience where art and presence meet in the Bellevue Botanical Gardens. This workshop is space to slow down, wander through the gardens, and reconnect with the subtle beauty of the natural world through painting the fall leaves. There will be time to move at an unhurried pace, explore the garden pathways with curiosity and openness. Along the way, you will gather fallen leaves that speak to you—drawn not by perfection, but by texture, color, shape, and the quiet stories each leaf carries.

You will learn tips and tricks to paint the leaves (which can be applied to painting anything). There will be gentle prompts that invite reflection: noticing patterns in nature, embracing imperfection, and cultivating a sense of presence through creative practice. By the end, you’ll leave not only with a series of painted leaves, but with a deeper connection to the rhythms of nature, a quieter mind, and a renewed sense of creative flow.

No prior art experience is needed—only a willingness to explore, observe, and create.
