Ray will offer a glimpse into the historic flora and landscapes of the Seattle area just before Euro-American settlers arrived. This talk will draw from sources such as herbarium specimens, settlers’ accounts, survey maps, and photographs that reveal the plants and scenery that made up the local landscape before Seattle was changed forever. Ray’s passion for the subject and his sense of humor make for an entertaining and fascinating presentation.
